Awards & Proof of Experience
David A. Tanner’s efforts have been nationally recognized. This recognition began during law school where he was on Baylor Law School’s Law Review and acted as its Technology Editor. Baylor Law School also selected him to represent it at The National Moot Court Competition in San Francisco. These experiences provided him valuable experience in addition to his law school education.
He is a member of The Million Dollar Advocates Forum, a selective group whose membership is limited to attorneys who have won million-dollar verdicts and settlements. Less than 1% of attorneys across the nation (and less than 100 Nevada attorneys) are members of this elite group. In 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011, he was selected as one of The Top 100 Trial Lawyers in Nevada by The American Trial Lawyers Association. Additionally, he has been designated as a Rising Star in the Mountain States region by Super Lawyers, a rating service of outstanding lawyers. David is a member of The State Bar of Nevada, The Clark County Bar Association, The American Association for Justice and The Nevada Justice Association.

The objective is to create a credible, comprehensive and diverse listing of outstanding attorneys that can be used as a resource for attorneys and consumers searching for legal counsel. Since Super Lawyers is intended to be used as an aid in selecting a lawyer, we limit the lawyer ratings to those who can be hired and retained by the public.

American Jurist Institute Top 10 Attorneys
Each year, a select group of attorneys is called forward to accept one of the most prestigious awards The American Jurist Institute can bestow — selection to The AJI Top 10 Attorneys Award. This exclusive honor is conferred to the Top 10 attorneys in five practice areas for each of the 50 states and The District of Columbia. Candidates are identified by our in-house research team, peer nominations or client nominations. Once candidates are nominated, an AJI research team uses a lengthy and thorough vetting process to select the top candidates. The AJI Selection Council studies the results provided by the research team. The Selection Council, which is composed of attorney and non-attorney members, carefully considers the information presented to them and determines which attorneys possess the knowledge, skill, experience, expertise and success in their practice area to be one the Top 10 Attorneys in their state.
America’s Top 100 Attorneys
Membership among America’s Top 100 Attorneys is meant to identify and highlight the accomplishments of the nation’s most-esteemed and skilled attorneys in all areas of practice. Only 100 attorneys in each state* will receive this honor and be selected for membership among America’s Top 100 Attorneys. While selection for any award, honor or exclusive membership organization is always subjective in nature, we have developed a comprehensive multi-phase selection process involving propriety algorithms and Qualitative Comparative Analysis in an effort to help ensure that only the most skilled and exceptional attorneys in the community are selected for membership.
American Institute of Personal Injury Attorneys
Many attorneys can achieve high degrees of success, but this is oftentimes at the expense or satisfaction of the most important person in the case: the client. The American Institute’s Personal Injury Division looks for attorneys who have achieved unparalleled success but most importantly have done so for the benefit of their client. Very few attorneys can do so, and our organization recognizes this significant achievement.

Best Attorneys of America
Rue Ratings’ Best Attorneys of America is becoming one of the most celebrated and respected groups of attorneys in the country. Membership is extremely selective, carefully screened and limited to the most qualified and accomplished attorneys in The United States. With these high standards, less than 1% of the attorneys of America have been invited to be a member of Rue Ratings’ Best Attorneys of America. Lawyers may join in all areas of law practice. Our attorneys have an extraordinary level of legal expertise, competency, professional reputation and ethical standards. Simply the best lawyers. This recognition is not simply a litigators award for an amount of any one judgment. This recognition stems from years of experience in the practice of law.
Lawyers of Distinction
Lawyers of Distinction members have been selected based upon a review and vetting process from our selection committee. Nomination does not guarantee membership. All prospective members are subject to final review after submitting their application before confirmation of membership. Lawyers do not pay for this nomination. These potential candidates who meet the criteria of our screening process have demonstrated a high degree of peer recognition and professional competence. Attorneys may nominate other peers they feel warrant recognition or self-nominate. These candidates undergo the same rigorous review process. Lawyers of Distinction uses it own independent criteria, including objective and subjective factors, in determining if an attorney can be recognized as a Lawyer of Distinction in The United States in their respective field.
American Academy of Trial Attorneys
Know that you are distinguished and recognized because of your commitment to serving your clients. The attorneys selected as Premier 100 Trial Attorneys by The National Academy of Jurisprudence have been recognized as leading trial attorneys in The United States. Members of The Premier 100 Trial Attorneys have satisfied stringent criteria and standards as established by The NAJ Board of Directors. Of the 1.2 million attorneys currently active in the U.S., less than 1% are selected to receive The NAJ Premier 100 designation.
