Tanner Law Firm

Every Shoe Has a Soul

We’ll help when you’re hurt

The saying goes to really know someone, you need to walk a mile in their shoes. Nowhere else is this truer than at Tanner Law Firm, which specializes in slip and fall cases. Many clients come to share their stories and get help from an injury caused by someone else’s negligence and end up leaving their shoes behind sometimes as evidence for a case. At Tanner Law Firm, we literally have a room full of these shoes each with its own story to tell how what started out as a routine trip to a grocery store or park, or a fun night out on the town, ended in injury and pain.

Tennis Shoes

A dad takes his two children to a nearby bowling alley. While there, the dad goes to the restroom. While in the restroom, he slips and falls because one of the toilets was leaking, leaving a puddle of water on the floor. His injuries required two surgeries to his lower back, and he is unable to work for many months, affecting his family’s finances.

Sandals

A grandfather goes to the grocery store to get his weekly groceries. When exiting the store, he slips on water leaking from the ice machine near the entrance to the store. In the fall, he tears his rotatory cuff, requiring surgery.

Professional Shoes

A business owner is visiting Las Vegas from out of town for a convention. While at his hotel, he trips on a piece of rolled-up carpet that catches the toe of his shoe. He breaks his ankle and needs extensive medical care. This injury greatly affects his ability to maintain his business.

Work Boots

A young construction worker trips over a hose left out by the landscape company at his apartment complex. He falls into a window, severely cutting his arm with severed tendons and nerves. His arm is surgically repaired, but he has permanent nerve damage, which affects his ability to earn a living.

Pumps

A college student goes to a neighborhood restaurant to have lunch with her friends. The restaurant spilled some food and cleaned it up but left a greasy area on the floor. When she gets up to go to the restroom, she slips on the greasy floor, twisting her knee while falling, which tears the ligaments in her knee. During the following months of surgery and rehabilitation, she had to leave school because she could not keep up with her classes.
